
Originally a small multi-disciplinary team, working in-house for a healthcare business with 2000 employees, we knew that we could work more efficiently. Much of the communications work was outsourced, as we didn’t have the budget (or volume) to employ the specialists we needed. However, this was an expensive solution which involved many agencies.
We thought we could offer a better package… at considerably lower cost.
So, today, we have a small core team, together with a network of over 40 freelance staff, who we have worked with for over 20 years. We can offer as much, or as little support as you need, but here are some examples of the work we have done for some of our clients:
Full outsourced service : Two of our full time staff manage our client's account, with the support of 12 freelancers. We helped our client write their narrative, which is reviewed quarterly, we crafted their internal, external and digital communications strategies and we deliver all of their communications, including internal communications, content and press office. We are dedicated to their business 3 days each week, so we are completely plugged into their business.
Strategy and framework planning : One of our team was embedded within the client’s business for a three month period to understand the strategy, challenges and opportunities. On the back of this, we wrote a communications strategy framework, advised the client about a possible internal team to deliver the communications and then helped them to build a team. We continue to manage the press office and more detailed content.
Engagement campaign: A small team from Monterra worked with the client to understand the requirements, the key messages and the stakeholders. We then developed a roadshow-based health campaign to educate the public about the symptoms, tests and treatments for non-communicable diseases.
Internal communications : We work with a client with 500 employees, on a day-to-day basis to deliver internal newsletters, engagement programmes, all staff meetings, project communications (including a recent information security programme) and staff events. We also built their intranet and ensure that the content is kept fresh and relevant.
Content creation : We work with a number of our clients, primarily in the healthcare, technology and scientific space to create bespoke content, including editorial, copy for websites and collateral, case studies, white papers and research documents. Some of our clients also ask us to create weekly social media content to keep their brand on track.
